Chapter 87 - Darren Strikes Back!

"Attention all Trainers. Please gather at stadium one to check on your match schedules and pairings of round three for tomorrow. Thank you."

"Tch, you're lucky. If not we would have ganged you and teach you some lesson." After saying that, Darren and his gang left Rize as they want to proceed to the stadium one to check the of the match schedule and pairings.

"Can't stay here either! Gotta go to stadium one. But first I need to fetch all my Pokemon at the park first."

Rize hurried and went to the park where he left all his Pokemon there and returned them all into their Pokeballs then he straight away went to stadium one where all the other remaining Trainers have gathered.

The event organizer get to his position and took the mic. "It looks like all the Trainers have gathered. Now let's reveal the pairings for tomorrow's matches!"

The huge battle board that was always used to show the battle and battle scores and information during the match is now showing the faces of the 64 remaining Trainers and it began to spin in random to determine the pairings for round three.

The spinning have stopped and every Trainer immediately seek for their picture and check who their opponent is. Rize looked up to the board and was thrilled to see who his next opponent is. It was non other than Darren.

"Alright! Fate have a sense of humor I guess. He will have to suffer second defeat and humiliation again! Just you wait Darren."

On the other hand Darren was also fired up to see that Rize is his next opponent as that was what he wished for. "At last I'm going to have my revenge! You're going down this time Rize!"

Rize took another brief look at the pairings to see his friends' next opponent and surprisingly, Ryussei will have to go against Reinz on the third round. The two long rival will be facing each other once again. Surely it will be the hottest match on the third round worth to watch according to Rize's opinion.

Darren and his gang approached Rize again to declare his victory.

"So, it looks like we meet faster than I expected. Your debut in this league ends tomorrow Rize! Just you wait Hahaha!"

"Yeah you're going down! No one can beat Darren!" Kagayakashi added the provocation onto Rize.

Reinz and Ryussei happened to notice that Rize was confronted by their earlier opponents and they both went      
towards Rize and Darren. They learned the situation very quickly and backed up Rize.

"So.. it looks like the losers are still here huh? Why don't you just go home? You don't have anymore business here." said Reinz to Darren and his gang.
"Why you..!"
"Hey you give me $P200.000 I need to buy a necklace as a gift for my girlfriend!

Ryussei replied calmly with an annoying tone. "What does that have anything to do with me?"

"Rize, make sure you beat him and make him cry to his mom tomorrow!"
"You don't have to tell me that Reinz. That's what I intend to do."

The heat between these two groups of Trainers are getting intense as they stared with a very cold eyes yet full of fire to each other.

"We'll see about that tomorrow, Rize. Let's go guys, we don't have to babysit these losers."

Darren and the gang left Rize and his companions. Rize then wished Reinz and Ryussei the very best for tomorrow as they will have to go against each other. After that they all went their separate ways.

The long night passed in a blink of an eye and morning time approaches as the sun rises. Rize woke up early to have his Pokemon and himself some warm up. Just before he was about to leave his room, the telephone in his room rang. Wondering who would have called, he went and answered the call.

"Good morning Trainer Rize, glad you're awake. There's someone who wanted to see you but he insist on not giving his identity and you have to see him by yourself. Please come to the main lobby right now. Thanks."

The call ended and Rize was really curious who would that be who wanted to meet him and so he rushed out and went to the main lobby. Upon reaching the main lobby he could already see someone familiar to him from afar. A man who is both big and tall with muscular arms and built up body although the belly is not appropriate tough as it is big and round like a fatso. It was Master Chuck the Olivine Gym Leader from Johto.

"Hey Rize it's been awhile! Glad that I finally made it here, I was worried that by the time I reached here you've been eliminated Hahaha.."
"Nahh who do you think I am to be eliminated at the early rounds? Haha, but what brings you here Master Chuck? Don't tell me that.."
"Oh yes." Master Chuck took a Pokeball from his pocket and opened it. "This little fella just could not focus on his training when he knew that you were competing in this Kanto League so I've no choice but to bring him here. I'm sure he will come handy and useful for your upcoming matches!"

A Pokemon with a humanoid shape with a pair of boxing gloves on its hand appeared. It's Rizes' Hitmonchan.

"Hitmonchan! How are you doing! I've always been wondering about your safety with Master Chuck! Are you in good health?"

Master Chuck heard it and was a little pissed by Rizes' sarcastic comment. "Ehem..."

Hitmonchan replied Rize with joy as it has been a long time he have not be with his Trainer. "So then Hitmonchan, ready for some actions?"

Hitmonchan confidently replied and hit its own chest. "Monchan!"
"Great! Let's go for some warm up now!"

Time passed and it is now Rize's match against Darren on the third round of the Kanto League. The referee gave signs and instructions and they both released their first Pokemon. This time the battle is on the plain field.

"Aron let's beat this jerk one more time!"
"Go, Muk!"

"It's another rare sight we see here as we are now seeing with our own eyes a Pokemon from the Hoenn region, Aron the Steel and Rock type Pokemon! Now let's see how this little one will do against the big poisonous Muk!"

As Aron saw Darren's face, it became flared up to win as it hated Darren for being its ex Trainer in the past. It was probably one of the most disgrace to be owned by a disgusting irresponsible Trainer.

"What? After these four years and Aron have not evolved at all? How pathetic! It is really a weak Pokemon afterall. A weak Pokemon with an unskilled Trainer, what a combination!"

"A nasty smell and ugly looking Pokemon. Like Trainer like Pokemon. I guess that quotation proved to be quite true. Aron use Metal Claw!"

Aron jumped towards Muk and smashed Muk with its sharp hard claw. Muk took a clean hit but it does not looks like it affected it much.

"Haha! So you're trying to defeat me using Aron's hatred towards me but too bad my Muk's defense is just too awesome. Muk use Acid Armor!"

Muk thicken its sludge body by emitting acids from its body and its defense power was greatly boosted.

"Who cares! Aron use Rock Tomb!"

Aron used its power and stomped on the ground using its forelegs and the ground on Muk's area rose and became a tomb of rock that trapped Muk in it.

"Futile efforts. Muk break free from it now!"

Muk broke the tomb made of rocks that were seizing its body and the rocks were broke and crumbled to many pieces.

"What the!"
"Our turn now. Muk, use Mud-Bomb!"
"Look out! Dodge it quick!"

Muk opened his big mouth and shot a basketball size of ball of mud that flew directly towards Aron. Thanks to Rizes' quick reaction and commanded Aron to dodge the attack, Aron avoided the attack barely by jumping to its right side and almost got hit.

"That's dangerous. Aron is very weak with Ground type attacks. It might take just one hit and that's it."

"Hahaha, give up. You can't run forever. Mud Bomb continuously, Muk!"

Darren's confidence was greatly boosted and he is right now on fire to terminate Aron as fast as he could by commanding his Muk to use Mud Bomb furiously and endlessly until it knocked out Aron from the match.

"Aron, Dig unto the ground!"

Having no other way to dodge the countless balls of mud, Aron dug to the ground and was completely unreachable by Muk.

"Oh no!"
"Oh yes! Aron attack!"

Aron came out from the ground and crashed its hard body unto Muk, this time it inflicted real damage to Muk's thick and high defense as it is super effective. Muk then was flinched and it lost its focus and need to could not do anything Darren asked him to for a moment.

"Chance! Double-Edge attack!"

Aron rushed as fast as it could and hit Muk with its made of metal head and Muk was sent flying to a certain feet back and knocked out.

"Muk is unable to battle! Aron wins!"

Darren took his Pokeball and called back the unconscious Muk to its ball with an unsatisfied and annoyed expression.

"Tch, you're lucky that I have type disadvantage. But how about this! Aggron crush them!"


The Pokeball on the air opened and a huge armored with steels of silver and gray coloured appeared which gave Rize a very shocking fact for him to see and deal with. It's an Aggron the final evolution form of Aron.

"His Lairon have evolved! This is bad.. can Aron handle Aggron?"
"I've been training and raising my Pokemon after all. Unlike you."
"Yeah? Do you need me to get you a reality spectacle? Look who's on the lead! You're losing this battle! Aron use Dig!"

Aron burrowed and dug deep to the ground and going for a sudden secret attack from below.

"Indeed Dig would be super effective to my Aggron if it land a hit. Wise choice of move. I can't let that to happen. Aggron use Brick Break maximum power onto the ground."

Aggron focused all its strength power onto its right arm, raised it and chopped the battle ground and created a powerful shock wave that shook the ground and create trembles of strong vibration. Aron who was down below underground felt the shock wave of the vibration much more and was forced to came out from the ground as it could not stand the pressure underground.

"Now's the chance! Aggron quick use Brick Break!"

Aggron ran as fast as it could towards the little helpless Aron that was still trying to recover from the shock wave vibration and chopped it hard with an extremely super effective Brick Break attack. Aron was knocked out in an instant.

"Aron is unable to battle! Aggron's the winner."
"Now I guess we're even and your debut ends from now on!"
"Don't dream..."

After getting Aron back into its ball, Rize then took out his other Pokeball. "Now Hitmonchan, show me the results of your training with Master Chuck!"


"Trying to win with a type advantage eh? Not gonna happen! Aggron use Rock Slide!"

Aggron used its power and summoned rocks that appeared on the sky on top of Hitmonchan and they all fell down as to crush Hitmonchan.

Hitmonchan calmly released countless rapid punches that break through and turned all the sliding rocks into tiny pieces and Hitmonchan was clearly unharmed by the Rock Slide attacks as all the fallen rocks was all destroyed.

"Cannot be...!!"
"Oh yes it can! Now use Mach Punch!"

Hitmonchan dashed in a very fast speed and gave Aggron a falcon punch on the its armored body and its hard armored body was cracked and it was sent flying to the back and great was the fall that even cracked the battle ground.

"Aggron is unable to battle. Hitmomchan wins!"
"Cannot be... just one punch and you knocked out my hard defense Aggron?!"
"Ofcourse! Aggron is super weak against Fighting type and my Hitmonchan train hard daily to sharpen its strength and skill with Master Chuck!"
"So you send your Pokemon to somebody else so you don't have to train it by yourself? You're proud with that huh?! What kind of loser are you! Tentacruel go teach them some lesson!"

A giant jellyfish like shape Pokemon with two red rubies jewel on top of its head came out from the Pokeball that Darren threw.

"You may have defeated my Aggron but you're not going to defeat my Tentacruel!"
"Haha, you're really pathetic. You're right in front of a sharp edge and you did not even realize it.

"Tentacruel the Jellyfish Pokemon. It is a Water and Poison type Pokemon. It extends its 80 tentacles to form an encircling poisonous net that is difficult to escape."

"Careful Hitmonchan, be careful of those tentacles!"
"Being cautious is not enough! Tentacruel Hydro Pump!"

The big blue jellyfish Pokemon opened its mouth and spouted a powerful Hydro Pump attack towards Hitmonchan. Hitmonchan with its fighting and combat instinct dodged the attack with ease.

However, the Hydro Pump was just a distraction for Hitmonchan to lose its guard and made it defenseless. As soon as Hitmonchan was defenseless, Darren commanded Tentacruel to use all its tentacles to wrap and bind Hitmonchan's arm and whole body and thus Hitmonchan was all binded by the tentacles and was struggling to move its muscles.

"Hahaha! Now what can you do you brainless fighter, all muscle with no brain! Tentacruel Poison Jab!"

Tentacruel used its remaining tentacles that was not used to jab Hitmonchan's body with its poisonous tentacles and Hitmonchan was beaten up pretty badly and was infected by the poison as well.

"Now use Wrinkle and throw slam it on the ground without releasing your grip!"

Tentacruel wrinkled around Hitmonchan and tossed it to the ground and kept tossing and slamming it.

"Crap! Hitmonchan get hold of yourself and quick charge electricity on both your hands as if to use Thunder Punch!"

Hitmonchan do as Rize said and charged up electric power on both its hands and as Tentacruel's tentacles was binding its hands as well, it got electrocuted then which is super effective.

"Oh no! Tentacruel release Hitmonchan then!"
"Oh no, we won't let you! Grab those tentacles, Hitmonchan!"

Tentacruel quickly released all its tentacles that was binding onto Hitmonchan's body but Hitmonchan managed to grab two tentacles by both of its hands and kept on transfusing electricity to Tentacruel through the tentacles and Tentacruel was zapped and electrocuted and could not move.

"This is bad, if this goes on Tentacruel would be out of comission!"
"Fine then we'll release you."

Hitmonchan released its grip on Tentacruel's tentacles and Tentacruel was free from the zap but it's condition was not looking good.

"Finish it. Thunder Punch!"

Before Darren and Tentacruel could attack, Rize have attacked earlier and Hitmonchan dashed and threw its deadly Thunder Punch attack on Tentacruel and Tentacruel was sent flying and knocked unconscious.

"Tentacruel is unable to battle! Hitmonchan wins! Victory goes to Rize!"

The sign board crossed Darren's picture and Tentacruel and moved them out from the screen and declared Rize as the winner.

"Darn! This cannot be! How could I lose to him?!"

From afar Master Chuck was watching the battle at the spectators seat and talked to himself with proud as if he is the winner. "Now that's the Hitmonchan that trained with me! Of course it won! Hahaha"

Chapter 86 - Darren & the Gang!

'Marowak is unable to battle! Ninetales win!"

The whole stadium went loud in their cheers and again the commentator spokes. "Wow! Trainer Tamagoroshi only have one Pokemon left now while Trainer Ryussei still have two Pokemon that he have not revealed yet! The difference in their skills are so apparent! Now just what Pokemon will Tamagoroshi use?"

"Exeggutor let's show them!" Tamagoroshi threw a Pokeball and a coconut looking tree with three egg-heads appeared and stepped into the battlefield.

"Ohh! It's an Exeggutor! But don't he know that Exeggutor is weak against a Fire type?"

Rize was surprised as well. "Is he going nuts? What's he doing? Even his Ground type Marowak could not defeat Ryussei's Ninetales."

Ryussei was still cool and act as if it does not bother him at all. "Whatever. I'm not going to give any mercy. Ninetales, Flamethrower."

"Light Screen!"

Ninetales blew a burning breath of flame right into Exeggutor and super effective. But Light Screen protected Exeggutor and reduced its damage by half. Exeggutor was still standing strong with its nasty smiles and looks.

"Hahaha! Our turn now. Solar Beam!"

Due to the intense sunlight that was shining at noon, Exeggutor collected the energy much faster and fired a solar power beamed attack towards Ninetales. However, Ninetales was quite agile and jumped upwards and dodged it completely. The beam landed on the rocky ground and made a small explosion.

"On the air you're defenseless! Solar Beam!"

Exeggutor fired another Solar Beam attack but this time, Ninetales was up on the air and could not move anywhere to dodge and was shot by the Solar Beam attack and fell down to the ground.

"Hahaha another Solar Beam!"
"Dodge it!"

"No you don't little fox. Use Psychic and stop its movement then fire the Solar Beam!"

Just when Ninetales was about to move its legs and run, its whole body was stopped by Exeggutor's Psychic power and could not move even tough it tried so hard. It became a defenseless duck and was shot by another Solar Beam attack.

"Ohh it looks like Tamagoroshi is the one in control of the battle now!"

"This is bad, if Ninetales took another hit of that Solar Beam it might be unable to battle." Rize was worried of  Ninetales' condition.

However, Ryussei was still unaffected and keep his cool facing his situation and elegantly commanded Ninetales the next move. "Ninetales, Confuse Ray."

Ninetales stared at Exeggutor's eyes and its eyes shined like a blink of flash. In an instant, Exeggutor started to behave strangely like out of control of its own mind and going restless even hurting itself.

"Oh no! Exeggutor!" Tamagoroshi shouted out of worried of his last Pokemon.

"Just when we thought Tamagoroshi have the upper hand now Exeggutor was already in a dangerous situation of confused effect."

Ryussei took a Pokeball and called back his Ninetales. "Ninetales return and take a rest. Then he took another Pokeball and sent out his next Pokemon. "Persian your turn."

"You're finished. Persian, Faint Attack."

Persian dashed from its spot towards the helpless Exeggutor with its sharp claws and attacked mercilessly and ran through Exeggutor as if it cut it with a single slash and gave Exeggutor its back and smiled annoyingly towards Tamagoroshi. After few seconds, Exeggutor fell down and was found unconscious.

"Exeggutor is unable to battle! Persian wins! Victory of this match goes to Ryussei!"
"What the! Give me P$200,000! You hurt my Pokemon and they need treatments now!"

Ryussei didn't even bother and ugnored him completely and left the stadium walking slowly with his eyes closed.

"Alright, he did it!" Rize stood up from his seat out of excitement and so do the other spectators who gave a loud cheers.

"Ofcourse he did, if not he would not be worth to be called a rival of mine." Reinz added, somehow with a proud face as if he was the one who won the battle.

An hour later have passed and all the round two matches are over and there are only 64 Trainers left in the tournament. Rize, Ryussei, Reinz and as well as Satoshi have all passed round two and in the category of these remaining 64 Trainers.

It was seven passed by a quarter and Rize have just finished his dinner at the Trainer Lounge. He now was going out to feed his Pokemon their dinner and as well as to came out with strategies and decision on which Pokemon to use for round three.

So then he went to the wide public area which is a park that is one of the facility in the Kanto League for the participant Trainer to use. He sent out all his Pokemon on hand out and provided their dinner. The dinner was a dried Pokemon food that was processed from healthy ingredients so that it is easy to bring along and to be consume by the Pokemon. They all eat their dinner joyfully and peacefully.

However, as they were all eating their own food, Poliwrath have finished all his and still felt to need of more food. Maybe it was due to the harsh physical training it always undergo everyday that its appetite are much higher than the rest and need to consume more food to keep its worked out body.

It began to observe the other Pokemon who have finished eating and who have not. It saw that Charizard have finished eating and is now taking a rest. Sandslash too have finished eating and dug a hole for itself to rest underground. The rest which are Jolteon, Pidgeot and Bulbasaur were the ones who were still enjoying their food. All of them have type advantage over Poliwrath and Poliwrath did not dare to steal their food but it saw that Bulbasaur was small and easy to get rid of even tough it have type advantage.

Then it boldly approached Bulbasaur and just grabbed and ate Bulbasaur's food without permission. Bulbasaur was angry as its food was stolen and it used its Vine Whip attack and started whipping Poliwrath as a punishment of its act.

Poliwrath became angry as well and attacked Bulbasaur with an Ice Punch attack but Bulbasaur carefully avoided the dangerous attack.

Rize was not looking at what happened earlier and thought that Poliwrath and Bulbasaur was having a practive match session and so he just observe from his place. He then started to think of tomorrow's strategies and was absorbed by his own mind and little world.

Bulbasaur and Poliwrath was still fighting each other and Bulbasaur wanted to finish Poliwrath up with its powerful Solar Beam attack. Poliwrath was afraid of it and guarded itself with its hands infront of its face. However as it is at night and there are no sunlight, Bulbasaur just could not get the energy needed. Poliwrath noticed about it, took its chance and charged towards the unprepared Bulbasaur with its Ice Punch attack.

Lucky for Bulbasaur, just before Poliwrath's fist of ice reached it, an Air Cutter attack cut through Poliwrath and Poliwrath was knocked out of it. Thanks to Pidgeot who was watching the whole things that have happened from on top of a tree trunk where it stayed to rest.

Bulbasaur thanked Pidgeot and greeted it with joy and Pidgeot just stayed cool responding Bulbasaur.

Rize then decided to make a phone call with Prof.Birch using the free public telephone provided for the participants to ask for some advices and left all his Pokemon at the park. "You guys behaved while I'm gone okay. I'll be back very soon."

While he was on the way going to the public telephone arena, a group of male Trainers were having conversation and discussing about their matches, most likely to be complaining tough.

"Darn it! How could I lose at round two! I hate that arrogant jerk brat!"
"Me too! What's his name Ryu something what a weird name and he still owe me P$200,000!!"

Rize accidentally overheard the conversation as they were loud and noisy and he heard Ryussei's name was mentioned, he became curious and begin to eavesdrop.

He look at the male Trainers that were gathering and complaining and found out that they are familiat. "Hey they're Kagayakashi and Tamagoroshi that Reinz and Ryussei defeated just now. But who is the other one at the middle? Hmm he looks quite familiar tough."

The other guy who was at the middle have white face, black coloured quite long but messy and spiky hair at the top and a wide and thick lip. He is also quite fat with the round cheeks and big belly. He began to speak to his two friends. "Haha you two are weak and that's why you lost! If I meet with those who defeated you i promise to kick their butt and teach them some lesson!" After saying those things he began to do a silly looking pose with weird hand gestures.

"As expected of you Darren! It will be no problem for you to beat then ofcourse." Kagayakashi praised his friend as if he is his subordinate and his friend is his master.

Rize could not stand his big words for underestimating his friends Reinz and Ryussei and he came out from his eavesdropping spot and confronted them.

"Big mouth! You can't know how good people are if you are not good yourself! The fact that you can't see how skillful my friends that defeated your friends proved your lack of skills!"

"Huh? Who is this noob? What's your problem! You wanna fight huh?! Come!" Kagayakashi was provoked by Rize's confrontation and is trying to pick a fight with Rize.

However, when Darren saw Rize's face, he recognized him and immediately recalled the bad memory he have in the past and was shocked to meet with Rize here and now and even at the Kanto League area.

"What! It's you! What are you doing here in Kanto?! You jerk!"

Rize was confused as he did not know who he is and asked him in an innocent yet annoying tone.

"Huh? Who're you? Have we met before?"

Darren was even more mad now that Rize did not remember about him and he angrily told Rize of who he is and when and where they met before.

"How dare you forgot me you arrogant! I am Darren! We met and battled about for years ago at Dewford Island of the Hoenn region!"

Rize was still clueless and tried to recall his journeys back at the Hoenn region. "Hmm.. at Hoenn? Dewford  Town? Really? Hmm.."

After a long one minute that felt like forever, Rize remembered and shouted. "Ahh! I remember now! You're the loser who used Lairon and lost!"

"How dare you mocked me! Fine, indeed I lost to you back then but the me right now is different! I can quash you like nothing now! i even have my own gang now as you have see for yourself and I am the boss of the gang!" After he finished talking, Kagayakashi and Tamagoroshi posted infront of Rize with their silly pose defending their boss Darren. Rize's face became flat and was disgusted by their silly acts.

"Of course i forgot about you, how could I remember such a small fry and commoner like you? Anyway how have you been doing? If you can be at the Kanto League right now you must have progressed a lot without doubt."

"Heheh! I moved to Kanto right when there was that crazy natural disaster created by the fight of Kyogre and Groudon and I have been living and traveling in Kanto since then, challenging Gyms and participating in Leagues! Your achievements can't compare with me! It must be out of luck that you can even be here now!"

"Yeah.. Whatever.. people like you always talk alot and "big". I hope that my tomorrow's opponent will be you so that I can kick your butt again."

"So do I."

Both Rize and Darren stared each other with a look that looked down at each other and full of confidence of themselves that they are superior against one and the other.

Chapter 85 - You don't deserve any glory

"Beedrill Fury Cutter!"

Beedrill dashed and flew with its incredible dazzling speed and slashed Starmie until it was knocked out mercilessly.

"Starmie is unable to battle. Beedrill wins!" The referee made his call and gives the victory to Beedrill.

"Ohh, what incredible power thanks to the Swords Dance that increased Beedrill's physical strength power earlier. Not to forget that it is a super effective move and the more it slashed the stronger Fury Cutter gets! Nice combination and choice of moves!"

Kagayakashi called back his fainted Starmie. "Darn it! Return Starmie." He then sent forth his next Pokemon. "Fearow go get that bug!"


"This time Trainer Kagayakashi sent out Fearow which have the advantage over a Bug type like Beedrill. Will it be able to keep up the score with Reinz?"

"Aerial Ace, Fearow!"

Fearow flew up high and charged towards Beedrill with a super effective Aerial Ace. However.. Beedrill avoided the attack with ease and it began to move super fast moving here and there and confused Fearow.

"Wow! Beedrill was moving on the air so fast that Fearow could not took aim at it properly nor attacked it. It must be due to the agility move it used to increase its speed stats earlier."

"Hehe not fast enough army boy.. Beedrill could still wipe the floor with your Fearow but nevertheless I want to end this battle as fast as I could. Beedrill return and go Onix!"

"Wow! Look at that dear Pokefans! Reinz switched his Beedrill and sent out a big strong Onix! This might be it for Fearow."

"Stone Edge!" Without any hesitation, Reinz called for the finishing move Stone Edge to finish Fearow. Onix then shot numerous shards of stones that fiercely pierced Fearow and knocked it down to the ground.

"Fearow is unable to battle! Onix wins!"

"As expected from a powerful Rock type move like Stone Edge. It knocked out Fearow in a single attack." The commentator kept on commenting and the whole stadium cheered for Reinz to defeat his opponent Kagayakashi. "Go Reinz! Finish him off!"

"Darn!! You don't deserve all this glory! I'm the one who are suppose to be glorified! Machoke go!"


"Machoke Karate Chop!! Smash that rock body into many pieces!" Kagayakashi yelled hard and commanded his Machoke to use Karate Chop. Machoke ran towards Onix and smashed on Onix's hard body using its signature move, Karate Chop.

"And?"
Onix did not even feel a thing nor that it scream out of pain, it was Machoke's hand that was injured attacking Onix's hard rock body.

"Nothing happened to Onix! What an incredible defense!"
"But how?? It's impossible!" Kagayakashi backed down and trembled in fear not believing what he see and faced.

"I raised my Onix's defense extremely well with extreme care! Iron Tail!"

Onix smashed Machoke with its big hardened tail and the rocky ground was destroyed as Machoke was knocked down to the ground by its tail.

"Machoke!"
"Impressive, it's still not knocked out yet. Onix grab it with your tail and squeezed using your whole body."

Onix took Machoke with its tail and squeezed it hard binding it with its big rock body. Machoke was screaming in pain helpless and could not break free from it.

"That army guy is finished." Rize confidently threw his opinion.

"Alright I forfeit! Please release my Machoke!" The short and spiked army like hair style boy with a skin as white as snow eye like a girl with a long eyebrow could not stand to watch his Machoke suffered so much and admitted his defeat.

"Kagayakashi forfeited and therefore Reinz is the winner of this match!" The referee proclaimed Reinz victory and the battle board showed Reinz as the winner and removed Kagayakashi from the board.

"A quitter like you don't deserve any glory at all!" Reinz made his victory statement.

"As expected from Reinz. Now it's Ryussei's match that is still left! I'm really looking forward to it."

Two matches after Reinz's match, it was finally Ryussei's round two battle. Ryussei came out from the Trainer's waiting room and was ready to battle. His opponent for this round have came as well. His opponent have a dark brown coloured skin, a low height that was averagely only about 155cm and his name is Tamagoroshi.

"Ladies and gentleman it's now the 60th match of our Kanto League Intermediate round two match. Let the battle between Trainer Ryussei and Trainer Tamagoroshi begin!"

Ryussei took out his Pokeball that contained the Pokemon he's going to use and was ready to send it out as soon as the referee finished his countdown.

"Ready Trainers? 3,2,1! Go!"
"Ninetales let's do it!"
"Hitmonlee go kick them like a soccer ball!"

And so it was finally Ryussei's round two and his friends Rize and Reinz was watching his battle. Will this be an easy battle to pass or is this Tamagoroshi have something up on his sleeves?

Chapter 84 - Big Mouth Poeple are always Losers!

The sound that the Pokemon healing machine in the Pokemon Centre indicates that the Pokemon has been healed completely. "Competitor no.11, your Pokemon have been restored completely." The nurse called for the Trainer to collect back his healed Pokemon.

"Here's your Pokemon all completely well like never before." Said the nurse as she handed three Pokeballs to Rize.

"Thanks nurse Joy!"
"And congratulations on getting through the first round! It was really a tough round 1 after all. All the best for the rest of your mathes."
"Ahaha I couldn't believe I won as well."

Suddenly, someone from behind patted on Rize's back. As Rize turned his head over, he saw a man with a tidy short hair style and neat formal clothing and a notepad and a pen ready on his hand.

"Hello young boy! You're Trainer Rize aren't you? May I have a little bit of your time please..?
"Eerr.. Who're you?" Rize was wondering who could this man be and what do he want from him.

"Attention, the 9th match of round 1 is about to begin. It is a match between competitor no.30 and no.19. People who wish to watch the match please be prepare to be on the stadium or at anywhere there are television that you can watch via broadcast. Thank you."

"Ah! Competitor no.30. It's Ryussei's match! I gotta watch this. Please excuse me Mister."
"Ah please just a while okay, just a few questions. I am Miyamoto. I am from the top Pokemon Battle magazine company in Kanto and I am the reporter. I am here to ask to interview you. How do you feel after defeating the prodigy Trainer Shigeru?"

Rize was astonished and completely annoyed as he wanted to go and watch Ryussei's match but the reporter was on his way asking him so many questions without his permission. Everytime Rize wanna excuse himself the reporter just did not care and loaded him with more questions thus making Rize could not leave.

-------------20 minutes later------------


"Competitor no.30, Ryussei have won and passed through the first round! Congratulations!"

"Ahhh Ryussei's match was over!"
"And how do you raise your Pokemon? How many Pokemon do you have in total? Which one is your favourite? Do you just catch Pokemon that you like or you catch anything that appear infront of you? The reporter Miyamoto just kept on asking him more questions without stopping like a one way express train.

"And now comes the match between competitor no.12 and no.91."

"Oh great, now it's Reinz match and I can't get away from this old man."

---------Another 20 minutes----------

"Competitor no.12, Reinz have won the match! Congratulations!"

"Thank you for your time! Your answers were very much appreciated and I hope I could make this as a bulletin in our magazine this month. I'm positive about it tough, after all you defeated the prodigy!"

"Yeah yeah..whatever." Rize was exhausted after the countless questions from the reporter. "Thanks to him I didn't get to watch interesting matches."

Beep beep..

Rize's Pokegear rang, he took it from his pocket and look at who was the caller. It was Professor Oak who called. He then pressed the receive call button and picked up the call.

"Hey Rize! Congratulations on defeating my grandson Shigeru!" The professor congratulated Rize with a cheerful tone.
"Ehh?? I thought you will be scolding me for defeating your grandson, professor?"
"Nahh.. That child need to learn some lesson. He have become so arrogant ever since he became the champion at the age of 11 on the Junior League.  He have never been defeated by his peers every since then. But you've thought him the lesson he needed today. I hope that he can change his attitude towards others and his Pokemon as well."

Rize was relieved to hear that the Professor was on his side since he thought that he will be scolded.

"It looks like all of you including Satoshi have passed on the first round. Well I wish you all the very best. I have some research to finish now. I'm waiting for some good news!"
"Thanks Professor"

The phone line ended, Rize clicked the end call button and put back his Pokegear back into his pocket.

"It's really a wise thing that I called Prof.Birch for some advice last night that I could get Swampert for battle."

"May I have your attention please. Trainers who have passed the first round please gather at stadium one to see your next opponent and match schedule. Thank you."

So Rize went to stadium one as announced earlier. There are many Trainers who have passed the first round that have gathered there and there are many who are on their way as well.

"Yow Rize! Congratulations on your victory with Shigeru! But don't get cocky yet as you will not defeat me. My Blastoise is way stronger than his. Haha." Reinz confronted Rize with confidence.

Rize smiled as he felt challenged and replied with even greater confidence. "We'll see about that.."

The big board that was showing the pictures of the remaining participants started to spin randomly and stopped after a few seconds. Rize saw that his next opponent is a male Trainer with a decent look, probably the same age as him with a brown short spiky hair, black pearled eye, thin eye brow, flatted nose, and a thin face with a white pale skin tone. His name is Tsu.

Not long after that, the guy named Tsu appeared before Rize.

"So you're Rize eh? I heard that you defeated Shigeru the prodigy grandson of Prof.Oak with luck huh!" He acted and talked with such arrogance to Rize as if he is going to win for sure. He then boasted about his experienced. "Don't you think that I'm scared of you. Not a little bit I'm afraid of weak Trainer like you! I've met with the Legendary Bird Pokemon Articuno and defeated it but too bad when I was about to catch it I'm out of empty Pokeballs so I let it get away. If not for such things I would have Articuno by my side and I would dominate this whole tournament already! Anyway your participant in this league ends tomorrow, Hahaha!" He laughed loudly and left Rize before Rize could answer and counter him back.

Rize was speechless on his spot and said to himself, "Why do I always meet with such weirdo? It doesn't take a genius to spot that lie. It was obviously a lie.. He thought he could scare me with that huh?"

And so the day arrived and Rize was battling and winning with a perfect score against Tsu. He still have three Pokemon on his arsenal while Tsu have only one left. And Rize have been using Bulbasaur all the way single-handed without switching with any other Pokemon to defeat the first two of Tsu's Pokemon.

"Why you.. Magmar go burn that little Bulbasaur for good! Flamethrower!"



"Careful Bulbasaur, dodge it!"

Bulbasaur jumped to its right and avoided the dangerous long breath of fire attack from Magmar.

"Solar Beam!"

As the battle was at noon and the sun was at the peak, the bright sunlight shone much more than usual and thus making Bulbasaur charged its Solar Beam energy to its maximum power 10x faster than usual. It then fired its Solar Beam attack and hit directly to Magmar.

"Magmar was unable to continue! Bulbasaur wins and victory goes to Trainer Rize!" proclaimed the referee and thus the battle board crossed Tsu's picture and declared Rize as the winner.

Magmar fell on the ground and was unconscious.

"Eh? Knocked out already? I thought it will give more challenge." Rize himself did not believe that he had won already as it was too fast. Magmar have just started to battle.

Of course Tsu could not believe his terrible lost and complained to Rize. "No way! Grass type attack was not effective against Fire type! You've must did some dirty tricks don't you! Admit now!" He really cannot accept his defeat and accused Rize of cheating him.

"Defeating Articuno huh? What a big mouth from a liar when your fire type could not even defeat a little Grass type Pokemon." Rize became a little cocky of his victory and provoked Tsu even more. "Hmm.. I wonder how did you defeat the Gym Leaders with this level of skills. Maybe you use fake Gym badges, lied to the admin and somehow sneaked into the League. Ahh that must be it.."

Rize then left the battlefield with his Bulbasaur. "Come on Bulbasaur let's celebrate your most glorious victory ever."

"Why you cocky foreigner..!" Tsu could not stand the insults but there is nothing he could do as he had lost and left the battlefield as well.

The battlefield was being repaired and switched to a brand new one. This time the field used was a rocky field with lots of big rocks that can be used as shelters and hiding place.

"And now Pokefans! Let's resume to our 57th matfch of our round two between Trainer Reinz and Trainer Kagayakashi! Wow that's such a long name.., anyway let the battle begin!"

Rize got himself sat down on the spectators seat. "I certainly can't miss this match! Gotta check on all of the remaining Trainer's performance and battle style if I wanna defeat them all and win the league!"

"3,2,1!" The referee started his countdown for the Trainers to send forth their Pokemon. Reinz grab on his Pokeball and was ready to send forth his first Pokemon, and so do his opponent.

"Go Trainers!"

"Starmie, let's win this!"
"You're going down army boy! Beedrill go!"

And both of them sent out their first Pokemon and it was Beedrill for Reinz against Kagayakashi with his Starmie.

Chapter 83 - You're still the Best

The smokes and dusts started to clear up and the battlefield began to be clear and everybody could now see what had happened to Swampert after those terrible Draco Meteor attacks inside those smokes.

Everyone who was watching the battle expected that Swampert could have no way to be able to continue the battle but to everyone's surprise, Swampert was found still standing. "Ohh! What is this?! This is really a miracle!     Swampert was still standing firm and strong on its feet and it looks like that the Draco Meteor attack earlier did not harm and scratch it at all! Just how in the world could this be??!!"

Everyone in the whole stadium was in awe, curious and wondering of how did Swampert could survive the Draco Meteor attack and of course, of all people Shigeru was the one who was most shocked.

"What?! How did it still able to battle? It's impossible!" Shigeru could not believe at the view he was seeing.

Dragonite was just as shock like its Trainer and landed on the ground panting. It seems that performing the Draco Meteor used up a lot of its energy and its breath was heavy. Now that it saw that Swampert could survive its most powerful attack, the effect of the pressure and tiredness it felt was doubled.

Rize smiled and took this chance while Shigeru was still shaking and wondering of how did Swampert could survive their attacks and commanded Swampert to attack with Ice Punch.

Swampert charged towards the shocked and tired Dragonite who didn't even move as Shigeru also didn't react to the situation and was sent flying and crashed to the wall below the spectators with its body frozen and knocked out.

"Wow! Swampert landed a powerful Ice Punch attack and knocked out Shigeru's Dragonite! It looks like Trainer Rize still have a chance to turn this battle round!"

"Wow! He defeated Shigeru's Dragonite! This Rize, he might be able to defeat Shigeru!" Satoshi who was watching the battle in his room through the television jumped in excitement from his seat. He took his beloved cap and went out immediately from his room with his Pikachu. "Come on Pikachu! We gotta see this amazing battle with our own eyes!"

Shigeru returned his knocked out Dragonite into its ball. He then began to doubt his victory for this battle against Rize. "How in the world could he defeat my Dragonite? No Pokemon I ever face could stand after getting hit by Draco Meteor let alone survive the hit. Who is this guy? Furthermore what move did his Charizard used earlier to melt the ice and evaporate the whole water pool he created. I'm pretty sure it was not Overheat. I've never see such a powerful Fire move like that! And what is that Pokemon from the Hoenn region of his anyway??"

"Trainer Shigeru please send forth your last Pokemon or you would be disqualified from this match." The referee warned and reminded Shigeru to send out his last Pokemon to use before he get disqualifed.

"Crap! Blastoise, I'm depending on you then!" Without thinking any further, Shigeru sent forth his last Pokemon which is a Blastoise.


Shigeru then took out his Pokedex from his right pocket in his jeans and scanned Swampert to gather some basic information.

"It's a Water and Ground type Pokemon! So that means all of those Thunder Punch attacks didn't effect it at all! It was just an act?!"

 Rize laughed at him and mocked him back. "Haha! I guess you found it out just too late Shigeru!"

"How dare a commoner like you to mock me?! Crap if I've knew it's a Water and Ground type I would have use a Grass type Pokemon instead. Nevertheless, I still have the advantage here!

"That Blastoise must be his very first Squirtle that he received from his grandfather! It must be strong. Swampert don't let your guard down. Attack with Hydro Pump!"

"Gyro Ball!"

Swampert unleashed another Hydro Pump attack but Blastoise went in and hide inside its shell and started to spin and become a spinning ball that flew and charged against the Hydro Pump attack. It cut through the water current force and tackled Swampert with it.

"What?! Swampert stay focus!"
"Don't let it recover. Continue on Gyro Ball!"

After taking the hit, Swampert took a little time to regain its focus but Blastoise have tackled it with another Gyro Ball thus Swampert does not have the chance to counter attack.

"Another Gyro Ball!"

Blastoise continued on its Gyro Ball assault. Rize could not stay silent about this.

"Swampert it's coming, use Hammer Arm and toss it away like a ball!"

Swampert strengthen its right arm, took aim on the coming Gyro Ball attack and it tossed it away like hitting a baseball that send Blastoise flying away from it. But it does not score a home run tough. Blastoise then stopped its Gyro Ball attack and came out from its shell.

"Such physical strength!"
"Of course! My Swampert can even push a large ship while swimming."
"Answer me! How did you survive the Draco Meteor?! There must be some trick that you did secretly!"

Rize added a fuel to the fire by replying, "Like I would tell you.. If you can beat me then I'll tell you."

"So you think that I'm not able to defeat you! Who do you think you are commoner!!"
"I'm just a mere Trainer from Hoenn that aim to win the Pokemon League and become the champion! Swampert Hydro Pump!"
"You wanna be the champion! Ha! Beat me! A commoner like you won't be able to. Blastoise use Ice Beam and froze that Hydro Pump."

Blastoise shot an Ice Beam attack that froze Swampert's Hydro Pump but it didn't stop the attack but instead Swampert's Hydro Pump became a huge log of Ice that strike like a big spear of ice and Blastoise was hit by it. The Ice then broke into many pieces.

"What irony! Blastoise's Ice Beam attack just made Swampert's Hydro Pump attack to be more effective! What happened to our prodigy??" The crowd then all was provoked and shouted their supports for Shigeru but some of them began to cheer for the unknown and new Trainer to them, Rize."

"Are you really a prodigy?? Hm.. I wonder.."

Rize kept on adding fuels and charcoals to the burning fire. As a result, Shigeru lost its calm.

"Shut up! Blastoise Hydro Pump!"
"Swampert Dig!"

Swampert dug a hole and burrowed deep down to the ground avoiding Blastoise's Hydro Pump attack.

"It used Dig! That's it! It must have used Dig to avoid Dragonite's Draco Meteor attack earlier!"
"Bingo! You figured it out. But I think it does not take a genius to realize this, you're not a real genius after all huh?"

Satoshi arrived to the stadium and watched the battle from a distance. "That Rize, he's one smart Trainer. He kept provoking Shigeru thus making Shigeru to lost his calm. When a Trainer lost his calm and emotionally unstable, it will be difficult for him to be rational and make the right judgement on moves and strategies. Rize's going to be a tough opponent if he passed through this round."

"Blastoise use Iron Defense! We won't be able to dodge their attack so just defense for now!"

Blastoise hid itself once again inside its hard shell and toughen its defense with Iron Defense. Not long after that, Swampert emerged from beneath Blastoise and punched it hard that even the heavy Blastoise was bounced up.

"Swampert use Hammer Arm with both arms full power!"
"This is bad!"

While Blastoise was still inside the shell and in midair, Swampert smashed it hard down to the ground with both arm Hammer Arm and hard was the fall. The ground cracked and so do Blastoise's hard shell.

"Impossible! We just raised our defense with Iron Defense and it cracked Blastoise's shell! Blastoise Hydro Pump quick!"

However, Blastoise didn't respond to Shigeru's order and stayed did not came out from its shell.

"What's wrong Blastoise hurry up and use Hydro Pump!"

Still Blastoise did not respond and the referee decided to make its call the Blastoise have been knocked out and out of the battle. Blastoise's picture was crossed with red cross and Rize was declared the winner of the first round.

"He did it! He really did it!" Satoshi could not believe what he was seeing as he saw his number one rival the great Shigeru was defeated.

Ryussei smiled, stood up from his seat and left the stadium and the crowds with satisfied and proud smile and with his eyes closed.

The crowds shouted and cheered for Rize's victory tough some wept and insulted Rize's victory. Shigeru's fans was all stabbed in the heart to witness their idol defeated.

"After a tough and long battle, Rize emerged and proved to be the winner against the prodigy Shigeru! Look at the battlefield, what a total mess it have become from the battle! Congratulations to Trainer Rize!" The commentator congratulated Rize with his cheesy comments.

Rize entered the battlefield and gave Swampert a hug. "Swampert you're still the best!" Swampert smiled and hugged Rize back.

On the other hand, Shigeru was weeping on his defeat."How could I lost?? It's impossible." It was such a shock for someone like him to be defeated right away on the first round by an unknown Trainer.

Satoshi came over to his weeping rival. "Your own arrogance made you to stumble and made you lost. You could have win if you did not toy around when you use Alakazam. You act in ignorance and did not check on Swampert's information and confident that you will win. You lost your calm and the pressure you felt abounded much more when the possibility of you losing hit your mind when at first you thought it was impossible. You're like a ball that rised up high and when it hit the roof it went downhill and could not get back up again. Learn from this mistakes and move on."

Shigeru snapped out of it, returned back his Blastoise into its ball and decided learn more about Pokemon humbly.
