Rize was found sitting at the spectators seat with Master Chuck as he was going to watch his two friends battled each other in the 3rd round of the Kanto League. It's the match that he have been waiting of all round threes.
Reinz and Ryussei have both entered the battle arena. Ryussei's heart was beating fast as he is going to battle his rival that he have never defeated before. Their battle was going to be on the grass field.
"Are you ready to lose again, Ryussei?"
"Quiet."
"Gee cold as ever."
The referee then blew his whistle and was going to start the battle any minute. "Alright Trainers prepare yourself! 3,2,1 and go!"
"Golem!"
"Machamp you're the champ! Let's show them your super strength!"
"Wow! That spiky haired boy have a Machamp! I'm rooting for him then, haha!" Master Chuck was so excited to see Reinz sent out and used Machamp a Fighting type Pokemon.
"Oh man..Golem against Machamp. This is gonna be tough for Ryussei!"
"Blame your luck, it's looks like luck is on my side today. Machamp Cross Chop attack!"
Machamp dashed and ran towards Golem with its four arms crossed ready to chop Golem but Ryussei did not even gave any command to Golem and so Golem just stand there without doing anything about the upcoming attack.
"What's he doing! Is he so nerveous that he can't make the right and quick judgement of what to do??"
Ryussei just calmly seem unbothered with the upcoming attack and so do Golem, putting its trust on its Trainer and calmly wait for instructions.
When Machamp was very near just by few steps away, Ryussei then started to act. "Golem! Explosion quick!"
"What?!"
"Oh man..Golem against Machamp. This is gonna be tough for Ryussei!"
"Blame your luck, it's looks like luck is on my side today. Machamp Cross Chop attack!"
Machamp dashed and ran towards Golem with its four arms crossed ready to chop Golem but Ryussei did not even gave any command to Golem and so Golem just stand there without doing anything about the upcoming attack.

Golem immediately obeyed and collected enough power to blow itself up and used Explosion. Machamp was so shocked that Golem used Explosion but it was too late for it to return back and avoided the explosion. Golem exploded and great was the explosion leaving the two Pokemon unseen covered by the smokes and dusts produced by the explosion effect.
"It used Explosion!"
"Oh no Machamp!!"
"As we know for sure what happened to Golem but how about Machamp?"
After the smokes and dusts were cleared, both Golem and Machamp was found to be out of comission and unable to continue the battle and so the referee have to call for a draw and both Golem and Machamp's picture on the big board was eliminated by a red cross.
"Poor Machamp, that was such a dirty trick by that poker face boy." Master Chuck complained as he saw Machamp was defeated.
"It used Explosion!"
"Oh no Machamp!!"
"As we know for sure what happened to Golem but how about Machamp?"

Both Trainers picked up their Pokeball and threw it onto the air and sent out their next Pokemon at the same time. A huge big and fat Pokemon came out from Ryussei's Pokeball and from Reinzs' an elegant and dog with a beautiful tiger's fur and skin like Pokemon appeared.
"Since when did he have a Snorlax? Nah, it does not matter. Arcanine Fire Blast!
Arcanine spitted and breathed a flame from its mouth that turned into a star-shape looking flame but Snorlax did not move or react to the attack. Either it is too slow to move and dodge or it's on purpose and it received a clean hit by Fire Blast. However, Snorlax was looking completely fine as it hold itself with its big belly and the Fire Blast attack just vanished as it loses its power overtime.
"What?! It used its own belly as a shield against my Arcanine's Fire Blast?! Don't tell me that this Snorlax's ability is.."
Reinz took out his green coloured Pokedex to check of Snorlax's stats and ability.
"Right, my Snorlax's ability is Thick Fat which made Fire and Ice type moves less effective. Snorlax use Headbutt!"
Snorlax ran and charged towards Arcanine with its head pointed to Arcanine but its movement was too slow and Arcanine avoided its attack with no effort at all as Arcanine was agile and have great speed.
"Ha! It might have great power and defense but it certainly lacks speed! Now this is speed! Arcanine use Extreme Speed!"
Arcanine cloaked in shiny lights and tackled Snorlax with great speed and Snorlax was helpless against it and could only endure in pain as Arcanine continued its assaults following its Trainer command.
"Oh no he's losing!" Rize was concerned with Snorlax's condition but little do he know that Ryussei have a plan.
"Hang on, Snorlax." Ryussei seems to be concentrating and waiting for something.
"Finish it go use Crunch, Arcanine!"
Arcanine opened its mouth and its sharp fangs could already be seen ready to bite Snorlax's thick and fat body.
"Now's the time! Body Slam!"
When Arcanine was so close to Snorlax, Ryussei finally took action and commanded Snorlax to attack. Arcanine was surprised as the big huge fat Pokemon used its body crush it. Arcanine was crushed onto the ground with Snorlax's heavy weight and body. As soon as Snorlax removed its body from it and stood back up, Arcanine was found to be unconscious and the referee called for Snorlax's victory.
"My poor Arcanine." Reinz returned his fainted elegant dog back to its ball. "This is bad, I better stop playing around and stop underestimating Ryussei. Blastoise go do the job!"
"This is it, the real fight starts now. Blastoise is Reinzs' strongest Pokemon." Rize talked to himself and swallowed a gulp of his own saliva. "I wonder if I could defeat him and Blastoise even now."
"Blizzard!"
Blastoise breathed a blew of cold winds from its mouth that was extremely cold that could freeze any Pokemon but thanks to Snorlax's Thick Fat ability, Snorlax could endure the cold.
"What is he doing? He knew Snorlax's Thick Fat ability made Ice type moves less effective. Snorlax, Headbutt!"
Snorlax charged through the cold breathed wind and pointed its head to push Blastoise with all its might.
"Blastoise, Skull Bash!"
Blastoise stopped blewing the Blizzard attack and charged towards Snorlax with its head as well and it's going to be a clash of head for head combat and the two heads collided. Snorlax was overpowered tough as it has been so much weakened from all the damage it received and lost the battle thus making both Reinz and Ryussei left with one Pokemon.
"Venusaur, you're my last hope!"
"And Ryussei's last Pokemon seems to be a Venusaur. What an interesting battle between two final evolved form of the Kanto starter. Basing on types, Ryussei have the upper hand but we will have to see as in previous battles in the past, Reinz have always defeated Ryussei."
"Things are looking bad for Ryussei."
Master Chuck was confused from Rize's statement and asked why as he thought that Ryussei have type advantage and therefore gained the upper hand.
"As the commentator have stated, Reinz always defeated Ryussei and that is true. Even last month they just battled each other and Venusaur lost with this Blastois, and now that this Blastoise have learnt how to use Blizzard it is going to be even more difficult for Ryussei."
Reinz smiled and he is full of himself. "Huhuhu, ready to be beaten again, Ryussei? Blizzard!"
Once again Blastoise opened his mouth and breathed out a chilling extreme cold winds that is super effective and freezing Venusaur.
Venusaur was having trouble and enduring the cold wind that is weakening and freezing its body. Ryussei could not just sit still looking at his current situation and called for an attack. "Venusaur use Vine Whip to close Blastoise's mouth and tied it up hard!"
Venusaur did just as was commanded and tied up Blastoise's mouth and thus the Blizzard attack stopped and Blastoise was struggling with the vines that were shutting its mouth.
"We still have cannons! Blastoise Hydro Pump!
"Venusaur use more of your vines and reel them on Blastoise's cannons and point its cannon heading up towards the sky!"
Venusaur quickly threw its vines and reeled them onto Blastoise's cannons on its back and messed up its aim and so Blastoise shot its Hydro Pump attack up to the sky as Venusaur moved its cannons.
"Why you! Blastoise shake them off!"
Blastoise tried hard to shook the vines that were tying it up but it could not free itself as Venusaur tighten its tied. Ryussei then took this chance and called Venusaur to use Giga Drain attack and drained Blastoise's energy through the vines that were tying up Blastoise's mouth and cannons.
Blastoise could not move anymore and weakened as its energy was being drained by Venusaur, it's just a matter of time until Venusaur completely drained all its power and knocked it out from the battle. But ofcourse Reinz would not be idling around about this.
"Blastoise Protect!"
Blastoise created a barrier around itself with its remaining energy but it proves to be no use as the vines that were sucking its energy were attached on its body and therefore went pass through the barrier created and Venusaur was still draining its energy.
"Oh no! Protect did not work either! What should I do now!!"
Reinz was furious and panic as he did not know what to do and his Blastoise was getting weaker and weaker over time. It is like waiting for a bomb to explode for him.
"Ryussei did it! He overcame Reinzs' Protect strategy that made him so tough to defeat. If only his Blastoise could use Rapid Spin or Gyro Ball it could free itself from the vines." said Rize.
The Protect barrier that was shielding around Blastoise's body began to distorted and vanished as it lost so much energy and could not sustain the Protect barrier anymore. Ryussei then told Venusaur to release its vines from Blastoise and stopped draining its energy. Blastoise fell down and hold to one feet only.
"Alright! Time for a comeback! Blastoise quick use Blizzard again!"
Even tough Blastoise have been freed from the vines, it have lost too much energy and was very weak. It therefore could not attack Venusaur with Blizzard as Reinz have instructed.
"Your time is up. I'm finally going to defeat you." Ryussei mumbled to himself as his heart began to beat faster than ever due to the excitement he felt for going to defeat the one that he could never defeat before and called for the finishing blow. "Frenzy Plant!!" He shouted the attack command with all the strength he got with his fist pointing front.
Venusaur released a tremendous countless sharp thorny vines that strikes and pierced Blastoise super effectively. Even Blastoise's hard shell was cracked.
"Wow what a move! Frenzy Plant is the most devastating and powerful Grass type move ever! It's hard to believe that someone so young have mastered it and it looks like Blastoise was out of the match now."
And it's true that Blastoise have been knocked out and the referee called for Ryussei's victory. The battle sign board removed Reinz's picture and declared Ryussei as the victor thus making Reinzs' debut ended. The two rivals approached each other at the middle of the battlefield and shake each other's hand.
"Congratulations on beating me. I got careless today but I really enjoy our match! Good luck with the remaining matches!"
"Thanks."
This made all of the third matches battles ended and only remaining 32 Trainers left. The crowd all stood up and gave the two young Trainers that battled hard a full round of applause as a sign of their appreaciation.
