Chapter 92 - Battling a Friend part 2

"Glalie use Ice Beam!"

Rize intended on freezing Snorlax's whole body into a huge ice cube but Snorlax's Thick Skin ability made it able to endure the cold and not easy to be frozen up. Glalie's Ice Beam was just hitting its body like a beam and it did not freeze it.

"Snorlax, Belly Drum!"

Snorlax strengthen its physical power by beating his own belly like a drum, hurting itself.

"Headbutt!"

Snorlax ran and charged with its head towards Glalie. Rize felt challenged and he fights power with power head on. "Hey We can use Headbutt too you know. Glalie, Headbutt!"

Glalie charged with its head to fight Snorlax with power head and their heads clashed but Glalie was overpowered by Snorlax and was sent flying back like a shooting Javelin and crashed to the wall.

"Glalie is knocked out. Snorlax wins!"
"What the! In 1 hit?!"
"Such incredible power! Snorlax's combat power is now at its peak that it have used Belly Drum before. Can Trainer Rize defeat such powerful Pokemon in both strength and defense together?"

Rize looked at the big battle board that showed the progress of the battle and he have lost three Pokemon and therefore have only three Pokemon left to use while Ryussei still have five Pokemon remaining. It was quite a gap between them but it did not made Rize to give up.

"Jolteon, I'm counting on your speed!"


"Snorlax finish it with 1 shot! Body Slam!"

Snorlax, using its huge body to slam Jolteon but its movement was way too slow for Jolteon and Jolteon avoided the attack with ease. Jolteon even kept running around to confuse it that and all its attack were dodged.

"We will attack from distance. Jolteon, Thunder Bolt!" Jolteon then shot an electric attack equivalent to 10.000 volts from its charged up body and Snorlax was electrocuted. The cycle goes on as Snorlax kept missing its target and Jolteon kept attacking it with Thunder Bolt. The more Snorlax got electrocuted the more its movements got slower as well as the attack some sort paralysed its body.

"You're going down this time, Ryussei! Another Thunder Bolt!"

Again another Thunder Bolt attack was launched and Snorlax could not help but to take the attack with all it have as it does not have the speed to dodge such speed of an electric current.

"Hmm.. This is weird. It have cut down its own health by half by using Belly Drum earlier and it have been receiving so much damage from Jolteon's Thunder Bolt, but yet it's still able to continue the fight! How could it be so strong!"

Indeed, in reality Snorlax have not much health left to stay in the battle however, "Snorlax use Rest now!" Snorlax yawned and lay his own body on the ground sleeping peacefully and it restored its health back and all its injuries from all the damages it received disappeared.

"Tch, even tough it completely healed itself it is now unable to do a thing as it is sound asleep. While it is still asleep we would have knocked it out from the match. Jolteon keep using Thunder Bolt!"

Jolteon kept shocking the peacefully sleeping Snorlax with its Thunder Bolt attack and little by little inflicting damage on it. Snorlax was still soundly sleeping but Jolteon already started to be out of energy and breath. Its Thunder Bolt attack is not that powerful anymore. Jolteon stopped its attack as it rested for a while taking its time panting while Snorlax finally woke up from its sleep looking mad as its peaceful sleep was disturbed.

"Snorlax use Rest again."

Snorlax used Rest and went back to sleep again recovering its health points.

"I get it now. He's trying to use Snorlax's endurance to defeat my Jolteon by making Jolteon out of energy and then unable to battle! How dirty!"

Rize then remembered something, a move that is super effective against a sleeping Pokemon and even more to a Normal type like Snorlax. It is double the effect. "Jolteon return and take a rest for now." Rize recalled back Jolteon into its ball. "Poliwrath, I'm sure you can beat that thing!"


Rize's Poliwrath came out from its Pokeball and hardening and enlarging its built up muscles to all the people around to show its readiness to fight with all its might. Master Chuck who was watching the battle got excited to see Rize sending out a Fighting type. "Wow! I didn't know Rize got a Poliwrath! I'm gonna ask him to let me train his Poliwrath after this match!"

"Are you so obsessed with all Fighting types? What a freak." said Reinz who were sitting beside Master Chuck watching the battle.

"Poliwrath, use Wake Up Slap!"
"Oh crap!"

Poliwrath ran towards Snorlax's sleeping face and slapped it twice with a super-effective and powerful slap that not only woke Snorlax up but it even immediately sent Snorlax back to sleep as it became unconscious. It left a palm marked on both Snorlax's cheeks.

"Way to go! That Poliwrath is quite good! I really want to train it myself!" Master Chuck became even more fired up.

"Snorlax is unable to battle. Poliwrath wins!"

Without dragging the time around, Ryussei immediately sent forth his next Pokemon. "It's Water against Water. Golduck!"


"And here we have Trainer Ryussei's 4th Pokemon is a Golduck. It looks like he intended to fight fairly Water with Water. Who is the stronger Water type between these two Pokemon?!"

"Interesting!" Felt challenged, Rize accepted the offer to fight heads on. "Poliwrath Ice Punch!"
"Golduck, Ice Beam!"

Poliwrath strengthen its fist and collected Ice power on its fist and charged towards Golduck. Golduck however, fired freezing beams of ice from its palms that distracted Poliwrath's charged but Poliwrath avoided them nicely. Having avoided all of Golduck's Ice Beam, Poliwrath then challenged Golduck to a combat battle. Poliwrath unleashed its deadly freezing punches unto Golduck. However, Golduck's fighting instincts and combat abilities are not to be underestimated and it avoided all of Poliwrath's Ice Punches well.

"Sorry Rize! You've misunderstood me if you think that I want to fight you fairly between Water types. Golduck use Psybeam!"

The mark on Golduck's forehead began to glow and shine brightly in violet colour as it launched its super effective Psybeam attack that immediately pushed and sent Poliwrath flew backwards far from it.

"Poliwrath is unable to battle! Golduck wins!"
"What the?!"
"Wow! It looks like Golduck is stronger thanks to its ability of using Psychic type moves which is a real threat for Poliwrath!"

Master Chuck was furious to see one of his favorite Fighting type lost in one attack and it made him even more motivated to train that Poliwrath himself.

The battle board crossed Poliwrath's picture and it shows that Rize have only have two more Pokemon to use. One is Jolteon which he have sent out earlier and one other that he have not reveal yet while Ryussei still have four Pokemon and two of them he have not even reveal yet. Things are looking pretty bad for Rize.

"Jolteon, make that Golduck a duck soup!"

Jolteon made a second appearance but it looks like it is still quite tired from the battle with Snorlax earlier as it was panting after it came out from its Pokeball.

"I won't let you. Golduck return." Ryussei did not let things to go Rize's way and substituted Golduck with another Pokemon. "Golem go!"

"Now, what will Trainer Rize do as Golem is part Ground type and no Electric type attack will effect Golem!"
"The commentator's right! It looks like Rize have to switch Pokemon again or else. Wait but if he switch Pokemon again.." Reinz became aware and began to realize of the danger if Rize switch and did not defeat Golem without switching Pokemon and he was sure that Rize was extremely aware of his situation and knew better of the danger as well.

"Darn! If I switch Pokemon now, he will know my last Pokemon. My last is Swampert and I'm pretty much sure that Ryussei pretty much have predicted it as well. Once I sent out Swampert, he will definitely switch to Venusaur. I knew his battle style. His battle style is to finish off his opponent as soon as possible if he could with type advantage and the percentage of me winning will be very slim! Even if Swampert did somehow manage to defeat Venusaur it will not be in a good shape and will lose the next round with his other Pokemon. Then Jolteon still have to defeat his Golem which is another mission impossible task as well." All these were thought by Rize in his mind. "If Jolteon could not defeat Golem by its own then I'm finish. If Jolteon could defeat Golem then the chance of winning would be higher! It's swim or drown!" Rize inhaled a deep breath and exhaled it with a shouting a command of attack. "Alright Jolteon! Shadow Ball!"

A purple colour of energy ball was fired from Jolteon's mouth that created an explosion right after it made impact with Golem's body. Golem took quite a damage despite its high defense power but its special defense is low. Ryussei then told Golem to attack with Rock Slide. Rocks began to fell down from the sky as if it were a rain of rocks. Jolteon with its agile speed, managed to dodge every single rock from damaging it.

"Another Shadow Ball!"

And so another Shadow Ball made contact with Golem and this time it did the job and the referee called for Golem's knocked out and Jolteon's victory, making Ryussei with three Pokemon left.

"Wow! An Electric type defeated a Ground type! Trainer Rize really raised his Pokemon well!"
"Phew.. It's not impossible afterall. Thanks to your great speed Jolteon!"

Ryussei looked pissed by his Golem's performance as it did not went as he have planned and expected. He sent forth his next Pokemon and fortunately revealing the identity of his last Pokemon as well which is a Lickitung.

"Your Shadow Ball is useless now! Lickitung Lick attack!"
"Shadow Ball might be neutralized but we can use our Electric moves now! Jolteon dodge and use Thunder Bolt!"

Lickitung stretched its long sticking out tongue even longer that it reached from its spot to Jolteon's spot without moving its body forward at all. Felt disgusted with Lickitung's long slimy and wet looking tongue, Jolteon ran as fast as it could to dodge it and immediately shock it with its Thunder Bolt attack.

"Yeah! A clean hit. That should do."

However, Lickitung was still standing as if nothing happened to it. It did not even feel the shock and it continue its assault on Lick attack giving Jolteon a hard time evading all the attacks..

"What?! It did not affect him? But it's just a Normal type!"
"My Lickitung's special defense is high. Now Lickitung use Disable!"

In a sudden, Jolteon's Thunder Bolt attack was disabled by Lickitung and it could not fire anymore of its Thunder Bolt attack. Now that with Thunder Bolt disabled and Shadow Ball useless, Jolteon's choice of attacks were reduced to Thunder Wave and Quick-Attack.

"In that case! Jolteon use Quick-Attack!"

Jolteon dashed with its incredible speed like a bullet and strike right on Lickitung's belly but its attack was not effective and moreover it was deflected back by Lickitung's fat and bouncy body and Lickitung was completely fine with its act innocent look that annoyed Rize even more.

"Not only its special defense is high but its physical defense as well! Lickitung, use your tongue to wrap it and use Slam!"

Jolteon's stamina began to wore off as it have been running dodging every single attacks from previous battles and using a lot of its electric energy and so it slowed its speed and it was caught by Lickitung's tongue. Lickitung wrap it and tossed it around the ground with Slam attack. Jolteon looks so much in pain as it received a lot of damage from all the tossing and slamming and Rize thought of returning it back into its ball because he wanted to reserve it for eliminating Golduck later on.

"Jolteon return for now, eh? Wait a minute.." Rize have straighten his arm and directed his Pokeball towards Jolteon to recall it but just then, he got an idea of defeating Lickitung. "Jolteon hang on and use Thunder Wave!"

Jolteon was still wrapped in Lickitung's tounge and with all its remaining strength it got left, Jolteon struggled hard to collect energy and charged a Thunder Wave attack that paralysed Lickitung's whole body including its tongue. Due to its paralysis, it could not wrap Jolteon anymore with its tongue and Jolteon was free from the bind.

"Crap!"
"Alright Jolteon return now!" After returning Joleton back into its Pokeball, Rize immediately threw another Pokeball which is the last Pokemon of his arsenal, Swampert.

"What! His last Pokemon is Swampert!" Ryussei seems to be surprised and did not expect that Rize's last Pokemon is a Swampert and it distracted and slowed him down. Rize took this chance to strike a deciding attack for Lickitung.

"Swampert use Hammer Arm quick while it is unable to move from its paralysis!"

The paralysed Lickitung could not do a thing to avoid or prevent Swampert's destructive and super effective Hammer Arm attack and its Trainer itself was still stunned by its false assumption and so Lickitung was hammered down by Swampert's strong and hard arms.

"Lickitung's unable to battle. Swampert wins!"

"Wow! The score is now a tie between these two Trainers as they have the same number of remaining Pokemon! It is still anybody's battle, who would have expected that Trainer Rize would rise back and settle hsi score equally with Trainer Ryussei!"

However, Reinz have a different perspective as Ryussei still have his Venusaur and perhaps it would be the worst opponent ever for Swampert and his judgement was right, Ryussei did sent Venusaur up against Rize's Swampert. Rize and Swampert both knew it better then anyone else and they are really cautious and on guard against Venusaur.

"If only I knew that his last Pokemon was a Swampert instead of Charizard, I would have used Venusaur against Jolteon back then and my guarantee of victory would be higher!"
