Chapter 4 - Viridian Gym Battle!

Rize is now on route 1 battling with a wild Pokemon which is a Pidgey the tiny bird Pokemon.

Rize: Charmander now the final blow! Ember!
Charmander fired Pidgey with Ember and Rize threw the Pokeball and caught it.
Rize: Yes! I got my first Pokemon that I caught by myself in Kanto! Hmm according to the Pokedex this Pidgey is the strongest one I could find here.. Now Viridian City is not far left! Let's go folks!
Rize have arrived into Viridian City and healed his Pokemon in the Pokemon Centre.
Nurse: Thanks for waiting.. all your Pokemon have been fully restored!

Rize: Thanks! Wow what Pokemon are these?

" Chansey the Egg Pokemon and the pre-evolved form of Blissey. It is a Normal type. Chansey is said to deliver happiness. Being compassionate, it shares its eggs with injured people. It is few in number and difficult to catch. It walks carefully to prevent its egg from breaking. However, it is extremely fast at running away. "



Nurse: Chansey is the Pokemon that helps in all the Pokemon Centre in Kanto.
Rize: I see.. Allright now I'm going to challenge the Viridian Gym!
Rize went to the Viridian Gym and challenged the Gym Leader, however, since it  is the first Gym battle in the new category, Rize is a little bit uneasy.
Referee: The Pokemon battle between Rize the challenger and Geo the Gym Leader of the Middle Category is about to begin! It's a 2 on 2 Pokemon battle! Only the challenger is allowed to make substitution!
Geo: You're gonna go home with empty hands! Marowak go!

Rize: "What's that Pokemon?!"

" Marowak the Bone Keeper Pokemon. It is a Ground type. From its birth, this savage Pokemon constantly hold bones. It is skilled in using them as weapons. "


Rize: Marowak, a Ground type! As expected a Ground type Gym will be using Ground type Pokemon! In that case!" Pidgey go!
Geo: Are you kidding?! A Pidgey?! Marowak use Bone Club!
Rize: It's coming! Pidgey fly up to dodge it!
Marowak attacked with Bone Club but Pidgey flew up high to avoid it.
Geo: You think you can run away from us? Bonemerang!
Marowak threw his Bone Stick at Pidgey.
Rize: Dodge it!
Pidgey dodged the Bonemerang.
Rize: Yes! Now.. What?! It's coming back! Pidgey look out behind you!
The Marowak's Bone Stick came back to its original direction and striked Pidgey from behind.
Referee: Pidgey is unable to battle! Marowak wins!
Rize: Charmander you're up! Use Ember!
Geo: Shield yourself with your Bone Stick and charged in!
Marowak shielded itself using its Bone Stick and charged in closer to Charmander.
Geo: Say goodbye! Bone Club!
Charmander was hit with a super effective Bone Club and knocked out.
Referee: Marowak wins! Geo the Gym Leader wins!
Geo: You should give up on becoming the champion!
Someone in the shadow is watching Rize's battle.
Someone in  the shadow: "Hmm... could he be the one always messing with my plan in Johto?! But he's too weak! Maybe just another people with the same name."
And so Rize lost his very first Gym battle in Kanto terribly! But who is the person in the shadow?! And what plan in Johto do that person mean?
